Red Lobster @ The Intermark

Quick rating:
Taste: 8.5/10
Service: 9.5/10
Value for money: 6.5/10

On a good Sunday, Three Foodeteers sailed out to hunt for lobsters. We stopped at Red Lobster seafood restaurant at The Intermark Jalan Tun Razak. A 1kg Maine lobster became victim in the hunt.

Syabil: I like the service at this place. Warm greetings at the entrance, exclusive ambience restaurant, comfortable seats and tables.

I had the English Clam Chowder for starter. It is rich and creamy, with generous chunks of clams and potatoes. It goes perfectly with the complimentary Cheddar Bay biscuits (delicious warm, soft and buttery bread like biscuit, comes FOC at the restaurant).

Nina: I had the Lobster Bisque soup as my starter. It is rich and creamy, with significant pumpkin taste alternating with the taste of lobster. It also went super well with the complimentary biscuits.
For main course, we had the crispy calamari and a roasted live maine lobster.

The crispy calamari is good, served with crispy deep fried bell peppers and dippings.
But the main highlight was the Maine Lobster. First they weighted the live lobster, then put it on a tray and present it to us, in all its glory.
The lobster is moving on the tray while the waiter asked us on how to cook it. Feels kinda cool.
Then they cooked the lobster. We ordered for a grilled lobster, with crabmeat stuffings. Look at the size of its claw! We took a picture with a scale for reference.
The lobster was good. Well prepared with stuffing that really filled us up. They shucked the lobster for us so it was easy breezy. The highlight was the garlic butter dipping, a perfect way to add more fat factor to the lobster dish.

However, this was not our first lobster in KL. For RM 27 per 100 grams, and our lobster was 1kg plus, we paid over RM300 for just the lobster.

I (Nina) personally thinks that if on the account of having lobster alone, Red Lobster restaurant is not the place. Yes it prepares the lobster in some fancy stuffed style and "america-size" the dish with garlic butter dipping, but for the sake of enjoying lobster alone, I can recommend another place.

I recommend readers to try the lobster at Chinoz in the Park @ KLCC instead. The lobster there is cheaper, at only RM 155 flat. About the same size as Lobsters at the Red Lobster. But they grill it, with no stuffing. And they did not come outside and show you the live lobster.

However overall we still recommend readers to dine at the Red Lobster. The soup is great, the FOC biscuit is awesome, the other combos are fine and the service is out of this world. But to eat just lobsters, there are better places.

We left the restaurant feeling full and blessed.
