Metal Box Cafe, Empire Damansara

The 3 foodeteers launched the first attack on Metal Box Cafe @ Empire Damansara. 5 main dishes, 1 dessert, and 3 drinks were destroyed in the carnage, along with countless glasses of FOC plain water.

The menu with price list for you guys to check-it-out!

Nina: The cafe was nice and clean, with coffee aroma inviting people in. It is slightly crowded - the way the tables are arranged. But maybe they are aiming for some open intimacy kind of vibe.

Shireen: It is a good place to hang out. Some people really gave no care about people waiting to be seated, and continue to chat and hang out after finishing their meals.

Syabil + Nina: We had The Metal Breakfast(for Syabil) and Metal-Box Baked Egg(Nina's), then we ordered Smokey Chicken Pesto. First of all the portion was good. And the food was delicious!

Metal-Box Baked Egg

We think it is mainly due to the ingredients used by them, fresh and not some mass produced stuff. Makes us realize how the hipsters look at life.

The wurst, the beef bacon, the egg, the chicken, the beans and even the cherry tomatoes are not the common ones that we eat at our common brunch places.

The pesto was good. It is basic, wholesome yet no too fulfilling. It sort of leave the diner hanging, like a cliffhanger telemundo episode.

The coffee was good. It is very aromatic, and they took much care in preparing the latte. The milk was steamed perfectly, and it somehow enhances the bittersweet taste of the coffee, and eliminated the resonating bitter taste that should have occur in the finish.

Shireen: I tried several items on the menu, starting with Hemingway, which is a smoked salmon served with poached eggs on the bed of fresh made croissant. Not much different from the usual smoked salmon, but the fresh made, soft croissant gave it a twist.

I like the Beef Ragout Pasta, something different which I never tried before. It's like a pasta served with soupy kind of meat sauce, so yum u must try when u visit this cafe!

For dessert we had a Salted Caramel Apple Crumble. Solid stuff! The Apple Crumble was good, maybe too sweet for Syabil hehe but the overall the combination of apple crumble together with vanilla ice cream was the perfect end for today's brunch.

We left the cafe feeling satisfied.
